Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of JoyStoria, a global K-culture community platform.

Effective date: August 8, 2026

Beta operation & policy changes

JoyStoria is currently in beta. Some features, monetization, and creator programs are still being prepared or reviewed, and these Terms and related policies may change as the Service improves. Material adverse changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance.

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JoyStoria (the "Service"), including community feeds, local Q&A, posts and comments, translations, and related features.

2. Definitions

  • "Service" means the JoyStoria website and apps at https://joystoria.com and related features.
  • "Member" means a user who agrees to these Terms and accesses the Service via social login or other approved methods.
  • "Content" means posts, comments, images, videos, Q&A, translations, and other materials submitted through the Service.
  • "Operator" means 조이스토리아 (Business Reg. No. 308-53-01059, representative Han Chungjae), the entity operating the Service.

3. Trademarks and brand notice

"JoyStoria" and related logos identify this Service only. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the art & technology organization at culturehub.org or any other business using a similar name.

We respect third-party trademark and copyright rights and will respond to valid infringement reports as required by law.

4. Effect and Changes

These Terms become effective when posted on the Service or otherwise notified to members.

We may update these Terms without violating applicable law. Material adverse changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance; other changes at least 7 days in advance.

Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

5. Service

The Service may include K-culture community feeds, category boards, Ask Locals Q&A, search, AI-assisted translation, bookmarks, notifications, and advertiser/creator programs where available.

The Service may be in beta. Features may be added, changed, or discontinued with notice where practicable.

6. Accounts

  • You may register using social login or other methods we support.
  • You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate others or create fraudulent accounts.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, abuse, or legal requirements.

7. Member Conduct

Members must follow the rules below. Detailed prohibited-content examples and enforcement steps are in the Community Guidelines.

  • Do not post content that infringes others’ rights (copyright, trademark, portrait/publicity, privacy, etc.).
  • Do not directly upload protected works such as official music videos, audio files, or broadcast/concert clips without authorization. Linking or embedding lawfully public URLs (e.g., official YouTube) follows the Community Guidelines.
  • Do not use celebrities’ or third parties’ photos, likenesses, or logos without rights or permission.
  • Do not post hate speech, harassment, spam, illegal content, sexual/obscene material, religious denigration, political agitation or defamation, or other material that violates the Community Guidelines.
  • Do not disrupt the Service (hacking, scraping, excessive automated access).
  • Do not spread false or misleading information in Q&A or community posts.

8. Content Rights

You retain copyright in your Content, subject to the license below.

You grant the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, distribute, and display your Content as needed to operate, translate, review safety, and comply with law.

We may use excerpts for Service promotion (e.g., official social posts) with attribution where practicable.

Sharing Content with advertisers or sponsors follows separate notices, consent, or the Creator & Channel Policy.

Some Content may be retained after account deletion where required by law or dispute resolution.

You represent that you own or have lawful permission for all rights needed to post your Content (including text, images, videos, links, and embeds). Moral rights are respected to the extent required by applicable law.

You warrant that your Content does not infringe third-party rights and that you will handle claims arising from your Content to the extent of your responsibility.

9. Infringement Reports

Copyright, trademark, or portrait/publicity reports may be submitted via in-app reporting (e.g., “Copyright infringement”) or email. Rights holders should include the target URL, rights relationship, and contact details when possible.

We review valid reports and may hide or delete Content and restrict accounts under applicable law and the Community Guidelines.

We may act without prior notice when urgent or legally required. False or malicious reports may lead to restrictions.

10. AI Translation

AI-generated translations are provided for convenience only. We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness. You are responsible for verifying translated content.

11. Advertising and Paid Features

The Service may include ads, advertiser programs, and creator channels subject to the Creator & Channel Policy, Creator Revenue & Payout Policy, and separate contracts where applicable.

During beta, we do not guarantee earnings, sponsorship, or payout amounts.

Company revenue alone does not create a duty to share or pay creators until the payout program is open and the creator has given separate consent. Launch, pause, and resume timing are set by the company based on financial, tax, systems, and business readiness.

Confirmed payout amounts for a settlement period, once notified in-app or by email, will not be retroactively reduced except for refunds, fraud, corrections, or other legitimate reasons. Estimates and previews are not confirmation. Future changes to payout terms follow the payout policy and applicable law; material adverse changes are announced at least 30 days in advance.

12. Enforcement

For violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, reports, monitoring, or legal compliance, we may hide or delete Content, limit features, and temporarily suspend (SUSPENDED) or permanently ban (BANNED) accounts. Severe violations may result in re-registration limits.

Enforcement generally follows the ladder in the Community Guidelines (warning, removal, feature limits, suspension), but we may skip steps in urgent or legally required cases.

You may contact us if you believe action was taken in error.

13. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for disputes between members or between members and third parties arising through the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for copyright, portrait/publicity, trademark, or similar claims arising from Content posted by members (including images, videos, links, and embeds), except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.

We are not liable for outages caused by force majeure or third-party services (including Google, LINE, YouTube, and cloud providers) absent gross negligence.

Answers in Ask Locals Q&A reflect individual members’ opinions, not professional advice from the Operator.

14. Member Indemnity

If you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or if your Content causes damage to the Operator or a third party or leads to an infringement claim or dispute, you will compensate for damages to the extent of your responsibility.

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold the Operator harmless from reasonable related costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees).

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be resolved in courts with jurisdiction under applicable law.
